Studio project update and inspirations

On Tuesday I met the Cheltenham Playhouse Drama Company that has made itself available for a collaboration. They are currently preparing a show for this Spring, the auditions will be on the 21st and 22nd March, while the rehearsals start on Tuesday 3rd April. My project consist in a series of portraits in which I shoot two pictures of each subject: the first one portrays the character, without showing any emotion and its personality. In the latter I will ask the subject to bring the character to life, playing the role and showing its inner soul. This idea came to me from the Pirandello's play "Six Characters in Search of an Author", which is about the relationship among authors, their characters, and theatre practitioners.

Regarding the style of the pictures, my idea is to use a classic style painting lightning (such as Caravaggio, Rubens, Rembrandt...) but with a modern approach. I did some researches of inspiring contemporary photographers who use this concept in their pictures.
