Portrait replication exercise

For the assignment of this Friday I have been asked to reproduce the lighting of a portrait of my choice.

The picture I have chosen to try to replicate is the Nadav Kander's portrait of the actor Eddie Redmayne.

It took me about one hour to get a satisfying shot. The main issue was getting at the same time the shadows under the temples and the catching lights in the eyes. After several attempts the final set up was a soft box from above and a silver reflector below.
