After some researches, I made a list of different magazines (both hardcopy and online) that I can use as a reference while developing a project suitable for a publication. These magazines cover various topics and they are directed to different audience, however all of them include several issues in which I am interested and I can use them as a model for my future works.
National Geographic Magazine

It primarily contains articles about science, geography, history, and world culture. The magazine is known for its thick square-bound glossy format with a yellow rectangular border and its extensive use of dramatic photographs. Some of the most popular issues outlined by the magazines are environmental issues, deforestation, chemical pollution, global warming, and endangered species. The magazine has been recognized for its book-like quality and its standard of photography in fact, many photographers all over the world aspire to publish their work for this agency.
Wired Magazine

It explores the next big ideas in science, culture, business – wherever innovation and new thinking are reshaping the world. Its articles are based on informed and intelligent analysis, accompanied by great quality pictures.
In fact, it is committed to bringing the best writers and photographers; compelling long-form journalism; extraordinary photography and design.
VICE

Vice is a print magazine and website focused on arts, culture, and news topics. There is a photography section with interesting reportages directed to a teen/adult age public. The news are focused on subcultures and there are articles about recurring issues such as drinking, drug abuse, sex, mental illness
BBC
The online website contains a vast range of articles, from world issues to local stories. I think my projects may be suitable for a publication in the news category at a local or national level.

Prospect Magazine

Prospect is a monthly British general interest magazine, specialising in politics, economics and current affairs. Topics include British, European, and US politics, social issues, art, literature, cinema, science, the media, history, philosophy, and psychology. It features a mixture of lengthy analytic articles, first-person reportage, one-page columns, and shorter, quirky items.
Geographical Magazine

Informative, authoritative and educational, it covers a wide range of subject areas, including geography, culture, wildlife and exploration, illustrated with superb photography.
Time Magazine

It is considered one of the most respected magazine in the world. It includes breaking news, analysis, politics, world news, photos, video, tech reviews, health, science and entertainment news.
TRIP

It is an not-for-profit, digital and print photography magazine and zine publisher based in the North West of England. The target are young adults/students. The topics published are mainly about the British subcultures and young generations.
Aesthetica

It is a British art and culture magazine. Founded in 2002, it covers photography, visual art, music, film and theatre. It has a readership of over 311,000 and national and international distribution. The magazine includes features on art, film, music and performance, highlighting notable new exhibitions around the world and showcasing photography.The magazine's primary focus is on contemporary visual art. Aesthetica devotes a number of its pages to photography, other articles have explored subjects such as European art and politics, the development of light art, and art in architecture.
Dazed and Confused

Alternative style and culture magazine. The title became a lightning rod for cultural provocation and the magazine became a movement. Today, Dazed magazine continues to champion radical fashion and youth culture, defining the times with a vanguard of next generation writers, stylists and image makers.

The New Yorker

It is an American magazine of reportage, commentary, criticism, essays, fiction, satire, cartoons, and poetry.
Although its reviews and events listings often focus on the cultural life of New York City, The New Yorker has a wide audience outside New York and is read internationally. It is well known for its illustrated and often topical covers, its commentaries on popular culture and eccentric Americana, its attention to modern fiction by the inclusion of short stories and literary reviews, its rigorous fact checking and copyediting, its journalism on politics and social issues, and its single-panel cartoons sprinkled throughout each issue.

They are renowned for the analysis, perspective, opinion and insight that their journalism provides to a diverse and discerning audience.
HUCK magazine

HUCK is a global magazine exploring the many facets of radical culture, be it surf, skate, snow, music, art, activism, pop culture, the environment and the world beyond.

Created as a literary and cultural commentary magazine, it has a reputation in the 21st century for a politically moderate viewpoint in its reporting. It features high-quality news articles on a wide variety of relevant international topics.

Mother Jones is an American magazine that focuses on news, commentary, and investigative reporting on topics including politics, the environment, human rights, and culture.
Rolling Stone

Rolling Stone is an American magazine that focuses on popular culture. It was first known for its musical coverage and for political reporting. In the 1990s, the magazine shifted focus to a younger readership interested in youth-oriented television shows, film actors, and popular music. In recent years, it has resumed its traditional mix of content.
The magazine boasts an history of epic covers with photographs shot by highly respected photographers such as Annie Leibovitz.
