When I think about some photographers deeply connected with the environment where they lived, the first two that I think of are Brassaï and the Russian photographer Alexey Titarenko. Although their styles are very different (as well as the project that I am developing) they have in common the fact that they are extremely aware about their surroundings where they live, and they are interest in every aspect of that area: people, activities, architecture... Both of them have photographed their city for their whole life, never having their fill of it and we can see how everything around them changed during their life. For this reason I believe that they represent a great inspiration when documenting the area where you live and you have to try to follow their insatiable approach.

Brassaï's pictures (Paris)

Alexey Titarenko's pictures (St. Petersburg)
