For the Austerity and Prosperity project I am thinking about developing the concept of austerity reporting the everyday student life. "Photograph what you know", so why not to take picture of my very own condition? I think that a project based on the everyday situations and challanges that me and all the students have to face, would be a great report of my first year at university, an opportunity to explore in deep this same condition that we all live in our personal way.
Here there are some inspiring projects.
Dormitory
Ji Hyun Kwon Dormitory project consists of panoramas of the dorms with young people in their 20s. What happens within the small space called ‘Dormitory’ does not seem to be limited to a building in a campus. Being faithful to oneself might cause being indifferent to others. Even to those who are nearby.
The Viewing Boxes
Nico Brons
In my hometown, Amersfoort the Netherlands, there are 96 boxes where students live. The boxes are very small and all the same. The people wo walk by see always the outside and are wondering how it looks insite. I have had the oppertunity to make a project of the insite of the boxes. It are all small worlds on its own. Ther is so much to see in these little viewing boxes. Enjoy like I do.
Lunch Boxes
Bruno Rondinelli
Every day hundreds of students go to London College of Communication. Many of them will spend their whole day there and some bring in home made lunch. Is there a connection between what you eat and how you look like?
