Martin Parr is undoubtedly one of the contemporary photographers who best represents through his works the nowadays society. Thinking about the development of the Austerity and Prosperity project, his pictures are highly inspiring. I would define him as a "social analyzer", we can see how he investigates in deep his subjects, but at the same time what he shows us is never politically explicit and is open to a free interpretetion. I mean, we can understand from his projects his political position, but never on a first reading level. His pictures make us asking questions and only after a careful analyse we can figure out what he wants to tell us.

The shoots from his latest exhibition "Oxford Univerisity", that we have seen and commented in class, and his Cheltenham-based project "Cheltenham Gold Cup" brought me to consider to develop my assignment inside Cheltenham highest respected colleges and I am trying to get in contact to Cheltenham Lady's College and Cheltenham College in order to access their structure and document the everyday life in these privileged environment.
